When leading people, it’s the most basic approach that yields the highest business returns. That’s why our mission at the Job Joy Group is to help leaders embrace the fact that people will always be people first, and employees second. The behavior we see in ourselves as well as the actions we observe in others can all be traced back to fulfilling a human need.

 

Happiness is fleeting. It comes from outside circumstances that are conditional by the moment. Joy on the other hand comes from deep within us. We experience joy by feeling protected, loved, valued, and accepted. As human beings we are wired to flourish when we have a purpose, a sense of belonging and fulfilled potential. In other words, we know that we matter.

 

Just telling leaders they need to make sure their employees know that they matter isn’t enough. We show leaders how to do that with scripts, checklists, and team activities. The secret to surpassing employee engagement metrics is connecting with one individual human being at a time.  

 

Employee retention is an individual problem that cannot be directly solved with an organizational solution. It is the individual approach which forms the core of the Job Joy Group's methods.
